❤️ Yashoda Ma & Sri Krishna ❤️
The relationship between Yashoda and Sri Krishna is one of the most celebrated mother-son relationships of all time. Yashoda's unfathomable love for Krishna has inspired many works of art. She is an integral part of Krishna's childhood lilas. Once, when sage Narada visited Nanda's house, he was greeted with one of the most divine sights. Narada watched on as Mother Yashoda punished her mischievous little boy Krishna by tying him with a grinding stone. Seeing this, Narada said
What penance have You undertaken to be bestowed with the powers to punish the supreme Narayana". Because here was the Supreme Godhead, "the beginning and the end and also the middle" who let Himself being chastised by a mere mortal.
So, why was Yashoda chosen to be Sri Krishna's foster mother?.
Sri Krishna was born to Devaki and Vasudeva. But as fate would have it, it was Yashoda and Nanda who brought Him up. So, it was not Devaki but Yashoda who could witness all the beautiful lilas of Sri Krishna as He turned into a magnificent youth who mesmerised everyone who came in contact with Him.
Legend has it that one day little Krishna was playing in the sand and put it into His mouth. Mother Yashoda was concerned and asked her son to open His mouth. However, she was not ready for what happened next. She saw the entire universe inside that little mouth. There were the seven oceans and also Narayana resting on Adishesha (the Divine Snake) with his consort Mahalakshmi.
It is believed that Yashoda and Nanda performed great penance in their previous birth. Lord Vishnu was happy with their prayers and appeared in front of them. He asked the couple what they wanted and the couple said that they wanted to treat Lord Vishnu as their son. Lord Vishnu was amused because He is the Creator of the whole universe. However, He never knew what a mother's love is and that is why con ceded to the request and granted them this boon. Hence when Lord Vishnu appeared on the earth in His Krishna avatar, it was Yashoda who brought him up despite not being the biological mother of Sri Krishna.!!

Murugan and Gyana (Supreme Knowledge)
Realizing the highest truth of the Atman (and its oneness with the Brahman) is called gnyana (true knowledge) in Hinduism. Attaining this knowledge is also known as the opening of the "third eye" in a person. Lord Murugan, who was born on account of the opening of the third eye of Lord Shiva is a knower of the supreme truth and is therefore referred to as "Gyana Panditan" (An exponent of Supreme knowledge).
The holy Hindu syllable "Om" is said to encapsulate the Supreme knowledge; one who knows the profoundest meaning of Om is indeed a Gyani who knows the Supreme Truth. According to mythology, Murugan, even as a little boy was aware the meaning of Om.
Once lord Brahma, the creator of the Universe, out of egotism, failed to show due respect to Lord Murugan, who was then a little boy. Murugan cornered Lord Brahma to expound the meaning of Om to him and the later could not do it. Murugan imprisoned him citing his incompetence.
Lord Shiva who came to the rescue of Brahma, questioned his little son's authority to imprison the God of creation; he wondered whether Murugan knew anything about Om. Murugan, the little master was bold enough to tease his father that if Lord Shiva too didn't know the meaning of Om, he could very well learn from him, provided he came to him very politely, like an earnest disciple who wants to learn from his master.
Lord Shiva agreed at once. Like an obedient student, he sat low in front of his son, with one hand close to his chest and the other hand closing his mouth (this is a traditional way of showing respect to Guru and Saints). Murugan then expounded the secret behind Om secretly in the ears of Lord Shiva.
Since Murugan thus became a saint who taught to the very lord of the universe, he was called Swaminathan. In Tamil, he is hailed as "Thagappan Sami" - one who became a Guru to his own father.

"Kali Maa" in baby version I think never seen before art for the first time I have seen ❤️
Kali maa, is a Hindu goddess. Kali is the chief of the Mahavidyas, a group of ten Tantric goddesses.
She is the most powerful form of Shakti, and the goddess of one of the four subcategories of the Kulamārga, a category of Tantric Saivism.
She is often regarded as the Shakti of Shiva, and is closely associated with him in various Puranas.
According to story two demons Chanda and Munda attack the goddess Durga. Durga responds with such anger it causes her face to turn dark, resulting in Kali appearing out of her forehead and immediately defeats the two demons. Later in the same battle, the demon Raktabija is undefeated because of his ability to reproduce himself from every drop of his blood that reaches the ground. Countless Raktabija clones appear on the battlefield. Kali eventually defeats him by sucking his blood before it can reach the ground, and eating the numerous clones...

MAHAKAAL
Life was one endless sequence. It was a sort of cosmic masquerade, where Shiva had learnt to easily identify and love the players even in their new roles. For example, He had known Vishnu,'the other God' , through at least two of His incarnations. He had known Him as Rama, from His forest meanderings and resonated so completely with Him in the love for one’s spouse, and the pain of separation. He had also known him as Krishna.
Krishna loved to play, and Shiva loved to watch Him play. He loved the infant Krishna’s delightful ability to steal butter cookies from His mother’s larder, much before He was a full-blown God. He smiled at Krishna’s charming adolescence as He dallied with the infatuated cowgirls of Vrindavan.
Then again, years later, when the time came for Krishna to sermonise Arjuna about divinity on the battlegrounds of Kurukshetra, Shiva had watched from an eternally witnessing sky above, listening intently along with others to Krishna’s song of God, the Bhagwad Gita.
When Krishna sang eloquently to Arjuna about Mahakaal, The Great Timelessness, Shiva smiled again. He had known this song even before Krishna was born. He, verily, had known it even before Rama’s time.

Lord Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is known by different names - Swaminatha, Murugan, Muruga, Kumara, Skanda,
Shanmukha, etc. Lord Murugan is also popularly known as Subramaniam that is a common name in South India. He seems to have been a popular war god who was also the elder brother of Lord Ganesh. However, excluding the likes of Tamil Nadu and some other places in India, Skanda is not as popular as his brother in other parts of India. Nevertheless, he is a highly decorated and powerful God with many divine qualities.
The Handsome God
Lord Kartikeya was said to be one of the most beautiful looking and handsome gods. He is often described as exuding boyish charm and yet with a serious face, quotes unlike his happy-go-lucky chubby brother Ganesha. often depicted as a calm and serene character, he had a face that resembled the radiance of the full moon. Thus, many parents keep their son's name as Kartikeya hoping their son would become very handsome.
The Shanmukha
Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati. Lord Shiva took her to a cave and asked her to meditate. As they both meditated, a ball of fire emerged out of their cosmic energies.
In the meantime, the other Gods being insecure from Tarakasura, sent Agni or the God of fire to get hold of the ball of fire. But even Agni couldn't bear the heat of the energy of Shiva and Parvati. So, He handed over the ball to Goddess Ganga. When even Ganga couldn't bear the heat, She deposited the fireball into a lake in a forest of reeds.to bear the heat, Agni gives the radiance to Ganga. Then Goddess Parvati took the form of this water body as she alone could bear the energy of Shiva and Shakti. Finally, the
fireball took the form of a baby with six faces - Eesanam, Sathpurusham, Vamadevam, Agoram, Sathyojatham and Adhomugam, and hence the name Shanmuga or Shadanan. Kartikeya was cared for by six women symbolizing Pleiades (Kritika in Sanskrit) and thus got the name Kartikeya...

🕉️ WITH GOD AT OUR BACK 🕉️

We want to be able to talk about our deeper thoughts on life, without the fear of being misunderstood.
We need help in finding clarity about our spiritual journey.
We want a shorter and happier way to the next peak of our own attainment.
Learning Shivopaya from Shiva Himself, the ancient Kashmiri Rishis, were great adepts at both the spiritual and material life. They understood that by creative contemplation and some methods of affirmative visualization, one could re-direct the current way of living only the material life, into a great synergy with spiritual life. The rishis said that life is all a play created by God. But it is not a game to amuse Him at your expense, rather a game to entertain you, as the child of a great King.
Imagine if you could imbibe this wisdom for yourself.
If you could learn that spirituality and materialism are not opposed to each other, but are,in fact, designed to be complementary.
Imagine if you could explode into your spiritual consciousness :
If you came to understand that all of life is a matrix which has been authored by a loving God in a distant beginning. And that you Can uncode that matrix and become a happy co- writer. Move in this world with the awareness of God as your back, just like a child knows about his father.
Aum Namah Shivaye.

❤️ THE MAGIC OF LOVE ❤️

When i set out to write on Shiva, at first, I was overwhelmed by His infinite aspects: What could one write about Him, who is Timeless, Limitless and Boundless? And then, the question itself revealed the answer. One sure mark of Shiva, is that He is bound to Parvati. It is said of Shiva that He does not incarnate. Of Parvati's bhakti (devotion), it is said She is one who can make even Shiva incarnate.
He is Timeless, and yet when Parvati manifests, it is time for Shiva to arrive. He is formless, but when She arrives, He manifests form. She is His eternal soulmate, and they always find each other, through the mists of cosmic time, even through lifetimes; such is the magic of their love! For it is said, Parvati is His wife even from Her previous birth, when She was called Sati.
And I realised that behind the innumerable tales about Him,
at the core of the myriad roles that He plays out, Shiva's story,is essentially a love story, over and over again.

PRAYERS TO SHIVA
“Bhujgendrahaaram,” said Suta loudly. “The one who wears snakes as garlands. Damrudhaaram—The One who rattles an hourglass drum to time all of life.” Then changing his tone to a musical note, he continued, “Nataraja Dum Dum—The one who dances in rhythm with the drum-beat created by Himself, as though to set a pace for us. Trinetra Devam—The Three-Eyed One, who is the most powerful. Yogi Dhyaanam—yet, unassuming like a recluse ascetic in the forest. Jai Shiva Trinetra Trisuldhaaram!” resounded Suta.
“Hail Shiva, the Three-Eyed One who wields in turn, the
three-pronged spear” repeated Shaunaka.
“So you see, my child, a prayer to Shiva, was the description of Shiva, repeated to Him.“With the passage of time, these prayers of attribute became longer."

SHIVA'S THIRD EYE CREATES THIS UNIVERSE
THE THIRD EYE
Question : Ma, why does Shivji have three eyes?
Answer : Shivji has two eyes just like us with which he sees the sky, the mountains, trees, birds , dogs, cats, and people, the same way we do.He also sees things like buildings, cars, chairs, tables , books and toys with these two eyes.We can see so many things with our two eyes!
But tell me can you see yourself with your two eyes? No you cannot, unless you are in front of a mirror. So, Shivji keeps a third eye in his forehead, with which He can see Himself.
How wonderful to be able to see yourself, isn’t it?
Now, the good thing is that even we all have this third eye, in the middle of our forehead. But we cannot see it, so we do not know how to open it. And Shivji teaches us how to open this wonderful third eye by teaching us to do Dhyana, which is to close the two eyes and start to silently feel the third eye in our Self.
Would you like to open your third eye one day, just like Shivji ?

💫💫 LOVE IS GOD 💫💫

He had been the greatest Lover in the world.
Love was the essence of what they were; love was existence.
Love, it was, that was in the beginning, love, that sustained the present, and love it would be, in the end.

Shiva hummed something to Himself, as they met in the forest the very next morning.
“What? Are you singing to yourself?” teased Sati.
“No, I am not!”
“You are, too!” laughed Sati.“Else, tell me.”
“Everything was decidedly different this morn,” said Shiva.
“The sun shone bright, much brighter than yesterday.
The stars, see my love… were still up, they refused to go away!
sparrows whispered to each other excitedly,
the bees were already stumbling in drunken ecstasy,
and, did anyone note the trees as they swayed?
Some strange delight in the air.
All this, for you, my Love…”

“Ah! A poet!”said Sati.

“My gifts are not silver or gold for thee,
my words are my gifts, my poems, me,” continued Shiva with a soft smile.
“That, is lovely,” said Sati as She slid into the familiar embrace.
“Sometimes I feel we have always been like this,” She said.“It feels so right!”
Shiva looked down at Her head and softly kissed it from atop. “Yes, this is how it has always been,” He said.

One day, She implored, “ Say something really nice.”
It was then that Shiva said the most enigmatic thing. “Love, there is no such thing as the end of life, but, without you, there is no life.”
“That is lovely,” said Sati and hugged Him. And then, a few moments later asked,“What exactly does it mean, though?”
“It means…” said Shiva turning completely towards Her, and locking His eyes in Hers. “That there is a part of us which is eternal, but that part is of no use, if there is not another to share the eternity with.”
Sati hugged Him, in a ‘never to let go’ embrace.

His single poem is the making of the world
He is the keeper of our breath

Shivji creates this entire Universe from his heart. He loves His Universe and all those that inhabit it.
Gratitude to the creator, the loving father ,
May Shiva Himself teach us what is the best way to loove Him.

  THE ROOT CAUSE

A remarkable painting of Shiva in Dhyana.
The artist's portraying His hair in the same style of the roots and branches of the tree connected things for me immediately: From Shiva do all things emanate, from Him do all things grow.
Also, the stones around him almost look like Shivlings, furthering the Divine message: All, Is Shiva.Shiva is in all.
Aum Namah Shivaye!

🕉️ Shiva Appeared 🕉️
Sati worshiped Shiva with a pure heart everyday. She would almost fall in sweet collapse at the Shivlinga.
And then She would remain there in bliss, for hours on end, till the days turned into months and the months into a year. Her entire life itself had become an offering, Her time a rosary count.
And then, one day, Shiva appeared.
He was magnificent.
Tall, and beautifully chiseled. His chest was large and firm.
A cobra wrapped around His neck was peering down at this chest, as if he had being doing that for an eternity.
Sensing Sati’s presence, the cobra arose swiftly from what seemed a blissful slumber, and darting out a forked tongue, he looked at her with hypnotic eyes, putting her into almost a magical spell.
Shiva wore a tigerskin and innumerable brown beads. The beads were woven together like rosaries and cosied themselves all along His upper torso. They were also draped around His arms in tight embrace as amulets. In His right hand He held a rustic looking trident, the Trisula.Tied on the top of the trident was a little drum, shaped like an hourglass.
Sati noted that even as the trident was held perfectly motionless and steady in Shiva’s secure grip, the stringed beads on the drum were still in a gentle motion.
How She longed to be that cobra, who was both possessive and possessed; or that Trisula, or even those beads, or somehow, all of them!
She swooned and fell into His empty arm, in a perfect fit, like it was indeed an embrace waiting for Her, as a balance to the Trisula.

YOU HAVE TO MEDITATE ....
Once, when Sati and Shiva were newly married, “So, what work do you actually do?” Sati asked Shiva in coy enquiry, like any newly married wife.
“I meditate,” Shiva answered.
“No, I meant what work do you do as in work?”
“Yes, I have noted that when most people ask you ‘what do you do?’ they mean to ask about livelihood, vocation and income. Whereas, I have always thought that there’s so much more than just what a man does for a living. So much more that goes in to make a ‘way of life’…you know… he may paint or sing or play sport…” Shiva said. “But you meant to ask what I do for work, right?”
“Yes,” said Sati. “That’s what I meant.”
“I meditate,” He answered again with a strange smile.
“I don’t understand,” She said.
“For most people, a livelihood and a way of life are two different things. For me, it is all one,” He said.
“And you and I are one,” She said, drawing close to Him.
“Yes,” He smiled.
“So then, teach me about meditation,” She said.
“Yes, I will,” said Shiva. “I will teach you about meditation, and then…”
“And then?”
“And then I will teach you about meditation.”
“Yes!” She said excitedly.
“Actually, one cannot teach meditation,” Shiva continued. “Just as one cannot catch the moon, even when you clutch at the sky. Meditation is like that: it cannot be clasped by pointing, it must be from within, from practice.”
“So, can't you be a Guru for meditation? If that’s all the work you do?” She asked, making a point.
“Ha Ha! Yes I can, but ultimately it’s you who must meditate, right?”
“Right,” She said. “Understood. So it’s not very different from cooking then, or playing or even reading; you have to do it for yourself?”
“Brilliant!” said Shiva.“That is what it is.”

THE KING
Once Shiva had been the formless, nameless, unseen one, but Brahma saw to it that all that changed.
And when it happened, this birth was indeed the miracle of a cosmic timeline.
Brahma prayed to Shiva on one leg for a thousand years, and when Shiva was pleased, Brahma asked for Him to be born as His son.And so Shiva fulfilled His Divine promise by being born in the next Yuga as Brahma's mind born son.
Now, holding a rueful baby in His paternal clasp, listening to His cries and wails, trying His best to calm Him down, Brahma let out a proud laughter, saying aloud “Rudra.”
“You are Rudra, the wailer, my tiny son. Welcome to the world of manifest beings.”
“Suswagatam prithviloka mam putra! Welcome to earth, my son!” “You are Rudra, my son.”
Brahma noted how much interest the infant Rudra had in all the nearby animals, He was looking at the pet tigers in a royal buggy nearby. Then He glanced at the elephants, and finally looked skywards to a flock of Brahma’s own swans flying in formation.
Looking at His newborn son observe all life forms, Brahma was quick to understand a very deep reminder, and said aloud, for all to hear, “You shall be Pasupati, Lord of all animals.”
Years later, when Rudra left Brahma's palace to live and meditate in the forest, he made friends with all the animals.
He joked with them about the lighter side of everyone’s looks including, many a time, His own. His sense of humour unburdened them and they felt worthy. They knew they were not just beasts; they were part of a divine plan. An important part. And He was here in their midst, as Pasupati. Just His presence seemed to exorcise them of an age-old sense of being unwanted. They began to think of Him as God.
But it was not till the time that Sati entered the life of Rudra, that He began to be called Nath . Satiwas the most important one, who, through Her unmatched love, had made Him realise more than what all other creatures put together had acknowledged. He was not just Pasupati; He was Pasupati Nath. Not just the Lord of animals, but also the undisputed master of their very soul. It was She who had brought Him to the more intimate relationships, She who drew out the tenderness.

🔥🔥 Parvati's Tapasya. 🔥🔥
Parvati’s tapasya in the forest was a cosmic storm. She did what no yogi had done before; indeed, no Yogi would dream of doing. She actually wanted to test the veracity of the consciousness teachings by all the rishis, including the most venerated rishi Vashishta, by testing it in Her own life.
The world was Her school, the forest transformed into the laboratory, and Her body became the crucible in which to dissolve the elements of life. She stood on one leg, Her hands raised skywards, pointing high into the ether, in a salute to the ever ethereal One. “Aum…” said Parvati, and the trees in the forest shuddered as if their own life force had been kindled out of a timeless dormancy. “Aum…” said Parvati a little louder, and this time the clouds in the sky responded with a tumultuous thunder. It was like they were drums, announcing the second coming of the first love.
And so began Parvati’s tryst with the forest, or more appropriately, the forest’s tryst with Parvati on how to attain the highest, the ethereal, the very source of one’s own being. Standing on one leg became the metaphor for aligning with the pristine ONE.
The days passed into months, and months into years, but there was no sign of Shiva, and neither did Parvati put down Her raised foot on Her own efforts.

WHEN IT IS SHIVA YOU LOOK FOR, TALK FROM YOUR HEART. शिव के साथ , सीधी बात !
Lord Shiva looks straight to the heart.
What somebody looks like, what clothes and colours a person wears, this does not mean much to Him.
How one talks, cannot hold Shiva for very long;
He does not go for tone , nor even for content :
it hardly matters if you are loud or soft; words can always be crafted into pleasing, but still be an act of deceit...
or then, your prayer can be unelaborate, but heartfelt; your speech can be raw, but truthful!
And Shiva can see through all this.
So then, if He does not see colours and tones and other such 'make-up' , what is it that 'holds' Shiva? 🙂
He 'sees' the basic Svabhav ( propensity) of a person.
Not so much about your content, but rather it is Intent that matters to Him.
He is straight Himself, just like a child at heart! He does not deal in lies. Verily He is Bhole Nath- the innocent, and thus too He loves innocence above all skill , all knowledge, all craft: therefore, the simplest rule is : शिव के साथ , सीधी बात !
Those that are loving and kind, Shiva, in turn loves,
but the unkind too, He helps to find their Divinity, one way or the other. Ultimately, all is His. Ultimately we are all returned to Him.
Aum Namah Shivaye.

HIDE AND SEEK
God has a funny hide and seek game. We are told that He is everywhere, but, we never get to see Him. We are told also, that He dwells within us, and, we find this impossible to believe. When we tire of looking for Him everywhere, and make a last effort to see Him in us, he surprises us, during the act of meditation. Slowly, we begin to realise that it is true. He does dwell in us, there is a way to meet Him. Once, you are sure of His identity in you, as Antaryami, you could not ask for more, but he begins to show you His presence everywhere.

🔥 The six evils in the character of man that cut short his longevity? 🔥

In the celebrated epic 'Mahabharata', sagacious Vidura makes reference to this in answer to a question raised by King Dhritarashtra. In all the four Vedas, man is attributed to have a longevity of 100 years. But he doesn't live up to that length of time. This was what confused the king.

Vidurar pointed out to him that six sharp edged weapons keep cutting short men life.

They are

1* #Athimanam (excess of pride)

2* #Athivadam (unnecessary disputes)

3* #Thyagam (lack of sacrificing mentality)

4* #Krodham (wrath)

5* #Mithra Droham (doing harm to friends)

6* #Atinavidhanasa (be ing self centred).

It is not the Death that kills people before they reach the allotted hundred years, but these six weapons together do that. Once man overcomes the influence of these evils, he can enjoy a longer span of life in good health and devoid of diseases....
